Chelsea FC linked with move to sign 22-year-old from Nice – report
Chelsea FC are interested in a move to sign Nice right-back Youcef Atal, according to reports in the British media.
The Daily Telegraph, as quoted by the Sun, is reporting that the west London club are interested in trying to bring the 22-year-old to Stamford Bridge this summer if they avoid their transfer ban.
The same story says that the Blues are still waiting to find out whether Fifa will delay their two-window transfer ban, which is due to come into effect this summer.
According to the same article, Chelsea FC are ready to test Nice’s resolve by tabling a bid for the £35m-rated right-back this summer.
The defender has been in decent form for Nice so far this season, scoring six goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances for the French side.
The same story says that Atal is interested in testing himself in the Champions League.
Chelsea FC’s participation in next season’s Champions League is yet to be confirmed, with the Blues currently in fourth place in the Premier League table.
The west London side will take on Frankfurt in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash on Thursday night as they aim to make the final of Europe’s second tier club competition.
