Live playoff updates: Sharks cling to 1-goal lead in third period
Get live NHL Stanley Cup playoff updates, news and analysis during Game 3 of the Sharks’ second-round series against the Avalanche Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Colorado.
The Sharks need to get a win on the road in order to regain home ice advantage in the series after the resurgent Avalanche notched a 4-3 victory in Game 2 on Sunday night.
Colorado’s talented line of Nathan MacKinnon, Mikko Rantanen and Gabriel Landeskog made all the difference in San Jose on Sunday. Landesko scored the game-tying goal and MacKinnon followed with the winner as the Avalanche evened the second-round series at 1-1.
The loss was San Jose’s first against Colorado this season and the loss of Joe Pavelski on Tuesday will make winning tougher for the Sharks.
Game 4 of the best-of-7 series will be Thursday night in Colorado.
