IPL 2019: Twitter Lauds Rajasthan Royals’ Shreyas Gopal For His Sensational Hattrick Against Royal Challengers Bangalore

The bowler dismissed RCB skipper Virat Kohli (25 off 7), AB de Villers (10 off 4) and Marcus Stoinis (0) to apply brakes on a fine start by Bangalore and reduce them to 62-7 in the rain-hit five-overs Indian Premier League (IPL) match.
Rain obstructed the match again when the visitors were at 41/1 in 3.2 overs in their 63-run target chase following which the had to be abandoned with both teams sharing a point each.
The no result keeps Royals mathematically alive in the tournament as they have 11 points from 13 games with one match to go. The visitors were 41 for one in 3.2 overs when the rain returned to the Chinnaswamy with Sanju Samson (28 off 13) being their top-scorer.

“I had a lot more nerves than what they would have had against me. It feels good to be getting them out,” Gopal said at the post-match press conference.
“Unfortunately for us, we didn’t cross the line and didn’t fall on the winning side. We still don’t know how things are in the (points) table. But it feels good to take those wickets in whatever overs that we had. I am pretty happy about that,” he added.
With his hattrick, Gopal became the second bowler to achieve the feat this season after Kings XI Punjab’s Sam Curran.
