Sarah Hyland Opens Up About Experiencing Hair Loss

Sarah Hyland is opening up about using hair extensions for her role as Haley on Modern Family after she experienced hair loss.

The 28-year-old actress’ hair started to fall out as a result of the surgeries she needed because of her endometriosis and kidney dysplasia.

“With medications and stuff, it can make your hair fall out,” Sarah told Refinery29. “So I had extensions put in for Haley to hide any of that loss.”

Sarah says that her natural hair now is much curlier than before.

“My hair that’s growing back now is much curlier than what it used to be,” she said. “It’s like I’m four years old now, I guess.”

“I wear it curly because I don’t know how to do my hair,” she added. “I try to blow it out, and it’s just a frizzy mess. It looks like an avant-garde runway look.”
