Three victims kidnapped from Kajuru Castle gain freedom

- The police have secured the release of three people kidnapped from Kajuru Castle in Kaduna state

- The police spokesperson did not announce the names of the victims who were released from their abductors

- A Nigerian, Mathew Oguche, and a Briton, Faye Mooney, died during the attack on the castle

While investigation is ongoing over the murder of Briton tourist, Faye Mooney, the police have secured the release of three other persons kidnapped from Kajuru castle in Kaduna state.

Recall that while the three persons were kidnapped, Mooney and a Nigerian, Mathew Oguche, were killed when gunmen attacked the castle on April 19.

Premium Times reports that the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Kaduna Police Command, Yakubu Sabo, announced the release late Tuesday, April 30.

Sabo, who did not mention the name of the victims released, said the release was made possible after the police mounted intensive pressure on the kidnappers.

He said: “The three victims kidnapped at Kajuru castle recently during the unfortunate incident that claimed the lives of Ms Mooney and one other have also been released today due to intensive pressure mounted on the surrounding areas by the police."

Barely a week ago, the Senate asked the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and other security bodies to adopt the use of drones and interceptors in the fight against kidnappings and armed banditry in the country.

The Senate also asked the law enforcement agencies in the country to protect foreign workers and tourists.

The resolution of the Senate followed the killing of Mooney, at the Kajuru Castle, Kaduna state recently.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng earlier reported that the Ebonyi police command rescued the two kidnapped Chinese nationals who were abducted by unknown gunmen at a road construction site in Ohaozara local government area of the state on Wednesday.

The victims, Messrs Sun Zhi Xim and Qinghu, were employees of Tongyi Chinese Group of Companies.
