Scholes’ son Arron tells De Ligt to reject Man Utd transfer as ‘we have a team of bell***s’
PAUL SCHOLES’ son Arron has called on Matthijs de Ligt to snub a transfer to Manchester United – as the Red Devils have “a team full of bell***s”.
The Ajax centre-back has emerged as one of the hottest commodities in Europe this season with a host of top clubs, including Barcelona, battling it out to lure the 19-year-old away from Holland.
Barca and United look to be the front runners for De Ligt, however the son of Old Trafford legend Scholes has urged the centre-half to swerve Manchester in favour of the Nou Camp.
Arron tweeted: “As much as I’d love to see De Ligt at United, I wouldn’t even wish that on him.
“Go to Barca and enjoy your career mate because we’re w*** and have a team full of bell***s.”
Spain was being tipped as De Ligt’s most likely destination, even before Arron’s word of advice.
Barca signed his close friend and Ajax colleague Frenkie de Jong for £65million in January.
The holding midfielder will join the La Liga champions in the summer, and reports suggest De Ligt could follow after holding talks with Nou Camp chiefs.
The intervention of Scholes’ son will reinforce a sense Manchester United are likely to miss out on De Ligt.
The centre-back, who was again brilliant in last night’s win over Tottenham, recently showed his humility by saying he is worth LESS than his pal De Jong, suggesting defenders usually cost cheaper than midfielders.

De Ligt said: “Will I be more expensive than Frenkie? I don’t think so, no.
“Normally teams spend more money on midfield players than defenders. I really don’t know.
“It’s up to Ajax – it’s not something that I decide. We shall see.”
