WWE fans in meltdown as Dean Ambrose returns as Jon Moxley amid AEW talk
FORMER WWE star Dean Ambrose has sparked speculation of a switch to All Elite Wrestling after returning to his Jon Moxley character.
The 33-year-old left WWE last month after a turning down a new contract following a successful eight-year stint working for Vince McMahon.
Prior to signing for the world’s largest wrestling promotion, the “Lunatic Fringe” appeared for numerous promotions under the name of Moxley.
In the early hours of this morning the former world champion and Shield member released a 90-second video on Twitter confirming the return of his alter-ego.
And fans believe it includes a huge clue he could be due to appear at AEW’s Double or Nothing pay-per-view this month.
The video begins with Moxley stuck in a prison cell before breaking through a brick wall as he attempts to escape.
With a huge dog chasing him, he scales the wire fencing before ripping down one of its strands and goes on to show him working out while continuing to elude police.
It finishes with the ace motioning across his face with his bloody, barbed wire-wrapped hand.
However, some of his supporters are convinced that the clip includes a big clue as to what’s next.
Some are speculating that the lighting on the hash marks on his prison wall are purposely display 25 and 5 – which they believe marks the date of Double or Nothing.
It remains to be seen whether or not he joins Chris Jericho at the upcoming bash, although Ambrose, real name Jonathan Good, did recently hint he would take a break from work.
In an interview with WWE’s Michael Cole, he said: “Eight years ago, I walked into this casino.
“Now I’m cashing in my chips and I’m walking away from the table. I won the game.
“What I do with the rest of my life from here on out is my business. I answer to no one.
“This time the ‘Million Dollar Man’ didn’t get what he wanted. Because I can’t be bought.”
