Coronation Street’s Daniel Brocklebank reveals he was minutes away from being blown up in fatal pub bomb blast
CORRIE star Daniel Brocklebank has revealed he narrowly missed being blown up by neo-Nazi David Copeland in 1999.
The soap star took to Twitter to commemorate the tragic event, writing he’d only left the Admiral Duncan pub 15 minutes before the nail bomb went off.
This year marks 20 years since David Copeland targeted Brick Lane, Soho and Brixton in 1999 in a 13-day nail bombing campaign that left three people dead and 139 injured.
The 39-year-old actor wrote: “20 years ago today I had a pint in the Admiral Duncan and left 15 minutes before it was blown up by a coward who hates people like me.
“Today I’m so happy to see so much love for people like me.”
Bomber Copeland, who was 22 at the time, targeted the pub as it was a popular drinking spot for London’s gay community.
