Deliveroo completely miss angry sarcasm from customer complaining about delivery
DELIVEROO utterly missed the sarcasm in an angry customer’s complaint made when he found his pizza had been mashed up while it was in transit.
Eugene, from Salford, sent a picture of his mangled dinner to the courier firm with the ironic comment: “Spot on delivery that”.
But it seems someone in Deliveroo’s customer help team didn’t pick up on the sarcastic quip.
The Deliveroo Help account replied to Eugene’s unappetising picture: “We’re glad to hear. If you need any help from us, just DM us with your account email address.”
Another user who saw the hilarious exchange explained: “I think [he’s] being sarcastic too”.
And others were quick to criticise the scrambled pizza that Eugene was brought.
Mark Forster wrote simply: “What. Is. That.”
Ryan White ironically asked: “What’s wrong with it?”
And another commented: “This looks like a battered pizza you ordered? It’s a lovely Scottish tradition nowadays!”
It appears the oblivious Deliveroo Help reply may have been an automated message.
An earlier reply to Eugene’s tweet from the firm had addressed his complaint and asked him to send them details of his order so they could investigate the matter.
Customers have previously complained the bicycle-based courier doesn’t always bring deliveries in the shape they were in when they left the restaurant.
One user named Alex previously moaned: “Thanks, guys, for the delivery of seven cold, smashed-up pizzas — much appreciated when we’re working late.”
