Tottenham star 'verbally agrees to join Real Madrid' in a deal valued at £130m this summer

Christian Eriksen has reportedly verbally agreed to join Real Madrid in the summer as the Spanish outfit kick-start a complete overhaul of its team.

According to Daily Mail citing AS, the La Liga giants will cough out about £129m to pay for Eriksen services, with the Tottenham playmaker having 12 months left on his current deal at the North London outfit.

At the last count, the Danish international has refused penning an extension at Tottenham, thus encouraging Real Madrid to seal a provisional agreement with the 27-year-old over a possible switch to Santiago Bernabeu at the end of the current campaign.

Interestingly, if the deal sees the light of the day, it will be the third big transfer between Real Madrid and Tottenham in 10 years after Luka Modric (2012) and Gareth Bale (2013) moved from north London for the Spanish capital.

However, this deal will likely be a tough one to seal, with Tottenham’s chairman Daniel Levy still fuming about the Los Blancos approach for manager Mauricio Pochettino moments after sacking Santiago Solari.

The Danish playmaker has enjoyed another fruitful campaign at at Tottenham - with the EPL side closing in on another top-four finish while playing the Champions League.

Eriksen has netted nine goals in 47 matches for Tottenham across in all competitions this term.

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Tottenham Hotspur have expressed confident Christian Eriksen will sign a new contract soon.

The 27-year-old has been impressive for Spurs this campaign - helping them to reach the Champions League semifinals for the first time in their history.
