Tension as Liverpool fans are involved in 'dirty fight' in Barcelona ahead of UCL clash (video)

Liverpool supporters have allegedly assaulted two hotel workers in Barcelona ahead Champions League tie against Barcelona on Wednesday night, May 1, at the Camp Nou

According to Give Me Football, out of the 5,000 Liverpool supporters in Barcelona for the UCL cracker, some Reds fans have employed unsportsmanlike behaviour in the run up to the big game tonight.

Already, video clips are trending online of one Liverpool fan pushing two locals into a fountain.

Additional reports Mundo Deportivo also claim more trouble are in the pipeline after six Reds fans were arrested after riots in the Plaça Reial.

The arrests were reportedly linked with Liverpool fans throwing beer cans at police in the central square.

In addition, two workers at the Plaça Reial hotel were assaulted and required medical attention.

Another video also captured Reds fans ‘fighting’ with security details.

At the last count, the supporters have left a huge mess everywhere they stayed.

Liverpool chief executive, Peter Moore, took to the social media platform Twitter to lecture the club's travelling fans on the need to conduct themselves in a honourable manner.

"We proudly sing that we’ve conquered all of Europe. But let’s treat this beautiful city with the respect that it deserves, and act in a manner that is befitting of LFC," he wrote.

"By all means have a good time, but we are Liverpool, and as such, let’s visit here with grace and humility."

Also, the Liverpool have now officially issues a statement condemning the fans behaviour in Barcelona, with hour left to kick-off.

"Liverpool Football Club is working with Merseyside Police and the authorities in Spain, who are endeavouring to identify those involved in the incident," a statement read in part.

"Such behaviour is clearly totally unacceptable and will not be tolerated.

"It would be inappropriate to comment further while the situation is ongoing other than to confirm the club will follow due process in any and all cases of this nature."

Earlier, Legit.ng reported that Barcelona vs Liverpool will take place at the Camp Nou on Wednesday, May 1, as both sides will be looking to take a step further in the Champions League semi finals first leg.

The Spanish giants have enjoyed a fine season, winning La Liga and have also booked a place in the finals of the Copa del Rey.

Liverpool on other hand are still in contention for the Premier League title and are still aiming for European glory this season.

The Reds had an easy ride against FC Porto in their quarter fixture with two leg wins over the Portuguese side resulting into a 6-1 aggregate.

Barca humbled Manchester United in the last eight fixture with a 4-0 aggregate scoreline to pull through as favourites of the tournament.
