How many episodes are there?
Line of Duty’s fifth series consisted of six episodes.
The show has aired on a regular basis every Sunday since March 31, 2019, and will conclude with its sixth episode on Sunday, May 5, 2019.
Each episode runs for 60 minutes on BBC One, with the exception of season 5 episode 6 which has an increased airing time of 90 minutes.
Is this the last season of the show?
Yes, there’ll be another series.
It was actually announced back in 2017 by BBC director-general Tony Hall that there would be a fifth and sixth season of the hit drama.
BBC had already commissioned for the show to remain on their channel until the end of its sixth series at the very least.
“I am very excited to say there’s not one but two more series of Line of Duty. So hooray for AC-12,” Hall told RadioTimes.
Given that the announcement was made in 2017, could this potentially mean that the sixth season will be the show’s last?
After all, there’s been no word on an extension past the number of seasons that Tony Hall has already confirmed with the public.
There’s been no word on when the sixth series will air, and it’s hard to even give an estimate after Line of Duty went on a two-year hiatus following its fourth run.
Show creator Jed Mercurio was said to have been tied up working on his other BBC show Bodyguard, which caused quite the delay to get season five in motion.
So it’s unclear whether this will happen again as the show goes on a break after the airing of episode six.

The final episode will air Sunday, May 5, 2019.
While it’s still unclear at this point, viewers hope to finally uncover who has been framing Ted Hastings all along.
The identity of ‘H’ has remained a mystery for two seasons, so there’s a great amount of anticipation to finally have a conclusion to the plot.
Fans, however, seem to be under the impression that the reason for an early commission of Line of Duty’s fifth and sixth series was to build a continued narrative.
This would evidently mean that any unsolved mysteries by the end of season five is most likely to get carried over to what appears to be the final series of the show.
