Who is Switzerland’s 2019 Eurovision entry Luca Hänni?

Luca was born in Bern, Switzerland on October 9, 1994.

At the young age of nine, Luca already started playing the guitar and piano – which was something he had self-taught himself over the years.

As the years went by, Luca’s interest in music continued to stick with him, consequently choosing that career path over an initial training to become a bricklayer.

The singer was determined to prove his talent, so he decided to leave school to take part in German’s version of American Idol, the ninth series ofDeutschland sucht den Superstar.

He competed in 2012 and ended up winning the show, accumulating an impressive 52.85% of the audience votes while also becoming the first non-German to do so.

Luca has won several talent shows in Germany.

Following his win, he took home 500,000 Euros as part of the winner’s prize and signed his first record deal with Universal Music.

From there, Luca launched a successful career in the music industry, landing himself multiple top ten hits in Germany, Switzerland, and Austria.

And while this is Luca’s first time competing in the Eurovision Song Contest, he had previously acted as Switzerland’s spokesperson to read out the voting figures on live TV.

In 2017, he participated in another competition show titled Dance Dance Dance on German’s RTL channel.

Surprisingly enough, Luca also WON that series of the show.

It’s not hard to see why he’s one of the favorites to win this year’s song contest.

What is Switzerland’s Eurovision 2019 song called?

Luca will perform his newest single She Got Me at the second semi-final of the competition, which will be held in Tel, Aviv on 16 May 2019.

The track was chosen from 13 tracks he had recorded in the lead-up to Eurovision.

And it seems that the chosen song has given Luca enough confidence to believe he could potentially win the song contest similarly to how he’s won two German talent shows.

Switzerland narrowed down their final 2019 entry with the help of multiple producers and songwriters, hoping that Luca can beat his opponents and be crowned the champion once again.

But do you think he can be crowned with the winner’s title?
