Killer with clown face tattoo severed cellmate’s spine, plucked out his eyes and sliced his mouth to widen it
A KILLER with clown face tattoo beheaded his cellmate, severed his spine, plucked out his eyes and sliced his mouth with a razor blade to widen it.
Jaime Osuna, 31, is facing the death penalty after he admitted to the horrific murder of Louis Romero, 44, who was found mutilated in their cell at Corcoran State Prison in California on March 9.
Prison officials said Romero was conscious for a “portion of the crime” that left his spine cut in two places, his eyes detached and stabbed, and his left lung partially removed, local station KGET reported.
Kings County Assistant District Attorney Phil Esbenshade said: “In this case; one of the victim’s fingers was severed, a body part was cut out, his eye was removed and his head was decapitated.
“It was a very gruesome case, certainly the most gruesome case I have seen in my career.’
The prison report states that the edges of Romero’s mouth was sliced open to extend more than two inches in each direction.
MAKESHIFT WEAPON MADE FROM A RAZOR
Authorities believe Osuna attacked Romero with a sharp metal object wrapped in string with a handle in a brutal overnight assault that left the inmate dead.
The makeshift weapon appeared to be made from some sort of razor and was later recovered in the prison cell, according to KSFN.

Osuna was already serving time in California’s Corcoran State Prison for the torture and murder of Yvette Pena, 37, in 2011.
Assistant Kings County District Attorney Phil Esbenshade said Osuna was accused of cutting Romero last month with a sharp metal object wrapped in string and attached to a handle.
Esbenshade said in an email that it was thought the victim, 44, was “conscious during at least a portion of the time.”
He added: “This is the most gruesome case that I have seen in terms of heinousness in the slaying.”

The charges include a murder that “was especially heinous, atrocious, or cruel, manifesting exceptional depravity” which could see Osuna get the death penalty in California.
Osuna also is charged with torture, mayhem and weapons possession.
The torture charge alleges he behaved “with the intent to cause cruel and extreme pain and suffering for the purpose of revenge, extortion, persuasion and for a sadistic purpose.”
TORTURED AND BEHEADED
Prison guards found Romero dead in his cell at around 7.30am on March 9 at the prison which holds more than 3,300 inmates, 220 miles south of Sacramento.
An autopsy report on Romero’s body published on Friday said he had bled to death from “multiple sharp force trauma injuries” and his body had been mutilated.
Prosecutor Nicholas Lackie at the time called her murder “truly horrific”, but Osuna refused to show remorse.

Danielle Gonzales, Pena’s younger sister, said Osuna smiled regularly during a dozen court appearances before he was sentenced.
Romero was also serving life for murder but had the possibility of parole in the future.
