Bow tie-wearing dog ‘sings’ his heart out while playing piano
This charming bow-tie wearing dog who learned to play piano is being praised as a four-legged musical prodigy.
Buddy Mercury, a beagle named after the Queen frontman Freddy Mercury, celebrated the three-year anniversary of his adoption on Tuesday by belting, or howling, an original song.
The adorable pooch now lives with the Wolfe family in Ronkonkoma, Long Island, but his music has been shared worldwide after his family created an Instagram account for him. He now has over 17,000 online fans.
Laurie and Glen Wolfe told WABC that Buddy taught himself how to play piano, although they usually give him a treat in exchange for a performance.
Glen Wolfe said: ‘There’s actually people making videos of their beagles listening and singing along.’
Buddy has apparently been able to use his musical talents to score a girlfriend, a four-year-old beagle named Winnie Jean.
In February, Buddy dedicated a performance to Winnie Jean. He later received a Valentine’s day card from his long-distance lady.
Buddy’s newfound celebrity has also led to the creation of a line of merchandise that his family sells, which features a caricature of Buddy and his piano on shirts, hats, bags, and more.
The Wolfe’s said they donate 50 percent of the merchandise sales to animal shelters in an attempt to help animals like their beloved pal Buddy.
One in four people don't feel they have anyone to confide in, study findsLaurie Wolf, said: ‘We want to help more animals get rescued. We only have so much space in our home. We can’t keep bringing them here.’
Buddy’s most recent video features the Wolfe’s two-year-old daughter Eve, who dances to her furry pal’s music.
Laurie said: ‘She loves it. She has a baby piano and they play.’
