‘Vampire’ teen ‘ate part of shopkeeper’s face and finger painted with his blood after he stopped him trying to steal a drink’
A ‘VAMPIRE’ teenager chomped a chunk of flesh out of a shopkeeper’s face before smearing the blood all over the floor.
Joel Davila, 19, reportedly attacked the 55-year-old shopkeeper in Taunto, Massachusetts, after the teen was stopped trying to steal a drink from the store.
Davila is said to have told a witness: “I don’t eat flesh, I just drink blood” after he bit the man just below his left eye.
Witness Keegan told Boston 25 Davila began to play “finger paints” with the shopkeeper’s blood “and licked it and put it all over his face”.
He added: “It was really bizarre…[He] spit the piece on the floor…And I’m like, ‘Oh my God’.”
Keegan continued: “I was like, ‘Wow, you are out there. Woo hoo’. [He] hissed at me like a feral cat.”
Cops arrived at the scene to find Davila sitting on the floor in an aisle in the store.
CCTV footage shows Davila bite the shopkeeper in the face and elbow after he tried to steal a drink from a cooler.
Taunton Police Chief Edward Walsh said: “The actions of the suspect represent an attack of an innocent worker just doing his job and trying to prevent the theft of merchandise from his place of employment.”
Keegan reportedly stopped Davila from fleeing after the attack, which he described as “demented.”
Davila was arrested and charged with assault with intent to maim and mayhem.
He appeared in Taunton District Court on Tuesday, where he smiled and blew a kiss to family members.

A judge has ordered Davila to undergo a mental evaluation and a psychologist testified that Davila is believed to be suffering from schizophrenia which he reportedly treats with anti-psychotics.
The psychologist told the court: “All in all, his background is notable for very much adversity in his developmental years… and emergent psychosis.”
Davila’s grandmother did not state her grandson’s condition, but told the court: “I do apologise and I hope he recovers soon.”
