Firefighters freed a seagull that had become stuck to the side of a building on Church Street in central Liverpool on May 1, using a crane to reach the distressed bird as a crowd of people watched. According to witnesses, the gull was stuck on the side of the building for several hours. The RSPCA thanked the Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service for carrying out the rescue, and said the gull was “receiving pain relief” and would be “fine in a couple of days.” In response, the fire service tweeted: “Great to be able to help with this rescue.” Credit: @NATlarx via Storyful
