Convert QR Skewer freehub to Thru Bolt?

I have a rear wheel with an FH-HG50 quick release freehub. I'm building up an old mtb with horizontal dropouts to run as a single speed, so I won't be using a derailleur or chain tensioner and was wondering whether A) a thru bolt would be less likely to cause the wheel to get pulled under pressure and B) whether it's even possible to change the axle on this hub.

What do you good folks think?
