Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford dribbles past Virgil van Dijk… despite stats boffins’ claims Liverpool defender is unbeatable
MARCUS RASHFORD has appeared to shatter the myth that Virgil van Dijk is unbeatable – after footage emerged showing him skipping past the Dutchman earlier this season.
The mind-blowing clip appears to show Man Utd’s Rashford did indeed go past Liverpool’s Van Dijk in December.
That’s despite boffins claiming the 27-year-old PFA Player of the Year is yet to be beaten by an opponent in the Premier League.
Opta claims Van Dijk holds an incredible record from his fine season at Anfield.
They state: “0 (zero) – No opposition player has completed a dribble past Virgil van Dijk in any of his 36 PL apps this season.
“In fact, this run stretches back to last March, meaning he hasn’t been dribbled past by an opponent in any of his last 45 PL apps. Immovable.”
However, a scene from Liverpool’s 3-1 win over the Red Devils from December seems to show Rashford, 21, getting the better of Van Dijk.
The striker appears to glide past his nemesis, with many blasting the claims that the centre-back is indeed solid as a rock.

However, it’s claimed Van Dijk did not attempt to make a tackle while Rashford went round him.
Which means he technically wasn’t dribbled past at all, even though it is clear he was beaten.
Fans of the ace can now rest easy knowing his record remains intact.
