‘A Bit Snitty’: Barr Trashes Mueller’s Letter Objecting To His Handling Of Final Report

Attorney General Bill Barr concluded his appearance before the Senate Judiciary Committee Wednesday by trashing a letter special counsel Robert Mueller sent to him complaining about Barr’s handling of Mueller final report.

“The letter is a bit snitty, and I think it was probably written by one of his staff people,” Barr said of Mueller’s letter, which was sent on March 27 and complained that Barr’s four-page letter summarizing Mueller’s final report, which Barr published on March 24, “did not fully capture the context, nature, and substance of this office’s work and conclusions.”

Barr’s comment on Mueller’s “snitty” letter came in response to questions from Sen. Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).

Blumenthal then asked if Barr had taken notes when Mueller called his office, something Barr had mentioned earlier.

“Yes,” Barr said. “There were notes taken of the call.”

“May we have those notes?” Blumenthal asked.

“No,” Barr said.

“Why not,” Blumenthal asked. Barr paused, waving his hand.

“Why should you have them?” the attorney general said.

Committee chairman Lindsey Graham interjected: “I’ll tell ya, we’ve got to end this.”
