Tottenham players react to Champions League loss on Twitter
Tottenham Hotspur failed to get off to the dream start in their first ever Champions League semi-final last night at their new stadium.
Not only did Spurs fail to take advantage of the home leg by scoring themselves, but they also allowed Ajax to grab an away goal to take back to the Netherlands.
Ajax started the game quickly and dominated the first 20 minutes, with Spurs responding sluggishly and gifting the goal after just 15 on the clock.
While Tottenham did claw their way back into the game, their only meaningful shot on target came in the form of a Dele Alli lash straight at the keeper.
However, the Spurs lads scored three away from home against Man City in the last round, and will be quietly confident of getting a result against Ajax.
Any victory in which Spurs score two or more goals will see the North London side progress to the Champions League final.
A few of the players reacted to the first leg loss on Twitter with similar optimism:
Halfway of the game. It’s not over so we must all stick together and fight to get the ticket for the final ???????? #COYS #MS17 #UCL pic.twitter.com/eqQv6KTURh
