Expelled student’s family paid $6.5 million in scandal to secure her admission to Stanford

News of the Zhao family’s payment comes as federal prosecutors are targeting additional parents in the scandal. So far, the second-highest known payment to scandal ringleader William Rick Singer was $1.2 million.
