[Cavaliers] Top student-athletes honored at 2019 Treaty's Awards
MONTREAT, N.C.– Montreat College's Student Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC) hosted the annual Treaty's Awards on Tuesday to recognize and honor the college's top student-athletes. Among the awards given were male athlete of the year, female athlete of the year, freshman of the year, and team of the year. Additionally, a coach's award was given to an individual student-athlete from each athletic team.
SAAC is strictly an athletic council devoted to creating a familial environment between the teams and athletes at Montreat College to support one another, encourage community, allow open insight into the heart of the athletic community, and promote a positive student image on and off campus. SAAC is comprised of one to two representatives per team that give insight to what is going on with each individual sports team.
"SAAC works extremely hard to put on the Treaty's every year. These select student-athletes work diligently to ensure that all teams are recognized for their outstanding achievements throughout the year," said SAAC liaison Heather Maston. "The nominees of the awards are chosen by their respective SAAC member and voted on by the entire council. This year was a big year in so many ways, and we had numerous achievements to highlight."
