DEADLY terror attacks in the Europa League final’s host country Azerbaijan are LIKELY, fans have been warned.
At least 70,000 Brits are expected to travel to the capital Baku – which will host the all-English clash between Chelsea and Arsenal later this month.
But chilling Government travel advice states that terrorists are “likely” planning to target civilians with “indiscriminate” attacks.
Hotels, pubs and restaurants are high on jihadists’ list of targets, Foreign And Commonwealth Office officials say.
The latest FCO guidance, published earlier this month, reads: “Terrorists are likely to try to carry out attacks in Azerbaijan.
“Attacks could be indiscriminate and against civilian targets, including places frequented by foreigners, such as international hotels, restaurants and pubs, as well as energy sector facilities.
“You should take sensible precautions.”
It adds: “There’s a heightened threat of terrorist attack globally against UK interests and British nationals, from groups or individuals motivated by the conflict in Iraq and Syria.
“You should be vigilant at this time.”
Meanwhile, tourists are advised against ALL travel in the west of the country due to an ongoing bloody conflict with neighbouring Armenia.
The warnings come as thousands of Brit fans book flights to the former Soviet republic for the Europa League final on May 29.
Chelsea will meet fellow London rivals Arsenal at Baku’s 70,000-capacity Olympic Stadium after both teams smashed through their semi-finals last night.
