Grip Shift Cover Replacement or Refurb

I am fixing up my 1996 or 1997 Gary Fisher Aquila. I'm likely to end up selling it after I fix it up. The Grip Shift grips and shifter covers are sticky. I've searched for replacements for the shifter covers all over the internet but haven't been able to find a suitable replacement anywhere; mainly I can't find a similar design and color. Since I'm selling it I don't want to sink too much more money into it if it's not going to equally raise the selling price.
Is there some way I can clean the stickiness off the shifter covers and grips? I'm hoping I don't have to resort to buying replacements that aren't a good match for the bike.
