THE owner of a dog which mauled a boy to death walks two virtually identical beasts days after the killer mutt was put down.
Sadie Totterdell, 28, fled the death scene with bulldog-cross Winston when it savaged nine-year-old Frankie MacRitchie in a holiday caravan.
The vicious seven-year-old animal was put to sleep on May 1 after Ms Totterdell was bailed over possible charges of manslaughter and having a dangerous dog.
But she was spotted this week with two similar dogs straining at the leash near her home.
A source said yesterday: “Sadie was distraught over the tragedy and also heartbroken that Winston had to be put down.
“But she has another very similar dog which she’s been allowed to keep because it was not involved in Frankie’s death.
“Another family member has another of the dogs, which is possibly a sibling, and they go out walking together. It’s not surprising locals with kids give them a wide berth on the street after the tragedy.”
Sadie found her dog beside Frankie’s bloodied body at Tencreek Holiday Park in Looe, Cornwall when she came in from a night out last month.
Her screams alerted his mum Tawnee Willis, 28, who was heard shrieking, “The dog’s attacked my boy”.
Paramedics battled to save him but he died at the scene.
Police have quizzed distraught Tawnee and Sadie over why the lad was left with the beast as they went for drinks at another caravan.

Sadie, 28, of Plymouth, was arrested 22 miles away after vanishing with Winston, whose white face was matted with blood. She was later released under investigation. Devon and Cornwall Police experts assessed Winston’s breed before he was put to sleep by a vet.
It was unclear whether checks were carried out on her other dog.
Sources said Winston was often muzzled after being involved in previous, less serious, attacks.
