UK’s worst female paedo who abused 64 kids is ‘days from release from prison’
NURSERY worker Vanessa George — the UK’s worst female paedophile — could be free within days.
George, 49, photographed herself abusing 64 babies and toddlers in her care and sent the sick images to paedo pals.
She was jailed in 2009 for a minimum of seven years but will argue at a parole hearing this month she is no longer a danger to the public.
However, campaigners blasted the “indeterminate sentence” she originally received and called for her to stay behind bars.
The Sun on Sunday can also reveal George and other members of the paedophile ring have received £133,000 in legal aid.
Harry Fletcher, Director of the Victims’ Rights Campaign, said: “The minimum recommendation of seven years in jail for Vanessa George was very, very low, which explains why the parole authorities have kept her inside.”
Plumbed new depths of depravity
Mr Justice Royce
He added: “It is scandalous these convicted paedophiles receive more than £100,000 in legal aid while victims get a pittance.”
Special needs coordinator George took pics on her phone of her abusing babies and toddlers at Little Ted’s Nursery in Plymouth.
Her trial heard she sent pictures to paedophile Colin Blanchard after meeting him on Facebook.
When arrested she did little to help identify the victims.
Sentencing her, Mr Justice Royce said she had “plumbed new depths of depravity” and warned she may spend the rest of her life in prison.
Many, and I suspect everyone so deeply affected by your dreadful deeds, will say that would not be a day too long

He said: “Parents have to live with the memory of you coming out with a smile on your face to hand back their child, when you may well have been doing unspeakable things to that child.”
Referring to how she would eventually be eligible to earn her freedom, he said: “If the parole board is not satisfied it is safe for you to be released then you will spend the rest of your days in prison. Some may say that would be too harsh.
“Many, and I suspect everyone so deeply affected by your dreadful deeds, will say that would not be a day too long.”
But parents said her sentence was a “joke”, with one lunging towards the dock at Bristol crown court and threatening to kill her.
1,33,990 IN LEGAL AID
Blanchard, of Rochdale, said to be the “hub of the paedophile wheel”, was later jailed for a minimum of nine years.
He traded the photos to members of a paedophile ring, including prostitute Angela Allen, of Nottingham, who was jailed for at least five years. Both are still believed to be in prison.
It has emerged the three received £133,990 in public funds for criminal and civil cases, including £24,000 in legal aid for George.
That will rise when George — who has reverted to her maiden name Marks at Bronzefield Prison in Surrey — faces the parole hearing.
Mr Fletcher said it highlighted the “complete imbalance between criminal and victim”.

The Ministry of Justice said: “Legal aid is only available to those who pass a strict means test.”
A spokeswoman for the Parole Board said: “An oral hearing has been listed for the parole review of Vanessa George and is scheduled to take place in May 2019.
“A panel of the Parole Board will consider a range of evidence before making its decision. This will be done with great care and with public safety the number one priority.”
