Justin Wilson Back To The IL, Eric Hanhold Called Up
Justin Wilson has been placed on the injured list once again for left elbow soreness. After returning from the Injured List May 6, Wilson threw one inning of work giving up three earned runs in his first outing back.
Wilson hasn’t pitched since and will be placed on the 10-Day Injured List. When Mickey Callaway was asked how concerning Wilson’s injury was he said “We’re not sure at this point. We’re going to get him checked out and go from there”.
The corresponding roster move will be to bring up RHP Eric Hanhold from Triple-A. In 12.2 innings pitched for the Syracuse Mets, Hanhold has a 4.26 ERA and has given up six earned runs in his last 10 outings. Hanhold has been used as a relief pitcher throwing 1-2 innings at a time.
Last year Hanhold had a short-lived call-up. He pitched 2.1 innings for the Mets and had a 7.71 ERA in three outings.
