2018/19 Senior Player Awards

The blue carpet was rolled out last night to welcome the glitterati of Eccles to the Gorton Street Arena for the Annual Players’ Awards Dinner. Mr Gary Hamer’s Impact Catering did the club proud, dishing up an exceptionally fine meal for almost 100 guests; and Marie Wilson and the bar team provided an equally sparkling service keeping everyone refreshed. On/Off stage live entertainment was most generously provided by Mr Ted Robbins and more than one enthusiastic exhibitionist. Speeches this year by captains and coaches were especially captivating, congenial and concise, in particular the colts section, who distinguished themselves with their handsomeness and gentlemanly conduct. 2018/19 Christopher Tickle Award – ‘The Fossils’ for outstanding year-round dedication to the maintenance of the club’s grounds, clubhouse and facilities. Present by Mr Kieth Tickle and received on behalf of the weekly work party by Mr Henryk Getz and Mr Ted Nichols.
