'Spider-Man' crashes a basketball game in the Philippines
Game 5 of the PBA Philippine Cup Finals in Manila was temporarily halted on Friday when a 31-year-old man dresses as Spider-Man rushed onto the court and crashed into players.
Spider-Man, who was later identified as Paolo Felizarta, ran onto the floor holding a sign and collided with San Miguel’s June Mar Fajardo, who took a nasty shot to the jaw. Security quickly corralled the web-slinger and hauled him off the court. Felizarta explained that the stunt was meant to send a message ahead of the Philippine midterm elections, which will occur on May 13th.
Felizarta was arrested and is facing charges of “unjust vexation, and alarm and scandal,” according to the Philippine Daily Inquirer
Via Inquirer.net:
“I just want us to love each other. That’s it,” Felizarta told reporters in Filipino. “I couldn’t clearly see through the mask. I’m sorry.
“It’s not my intention to hurt anyone. My message is about spreading love so why would I even go out there and hurt ?”
Spider-Man had brought several signs to the arena, with messages such as “Vote Love!” and “Our Future Is In Our Hands.”
