‘Modern dad’ Prince Harry has been changing Archie’s nappies and is keen to ‘share the load’ with Meghan, despite disruptions to his parental leave
NEW dad Prince Harry is already getting dad duties firmly underway.
The Duke of Sussex, 34, has been changing nappies of his new son, Archie Harrison, royal sources have confirmed.
The royal is said to be keen to share the load with wife Meghan Markle, 37, despite a few interruptions to his parental leave in the past week.
Since Archie was born on Monday morning, Prince Harry flew to the Netherlands on Friday to promote the upcoming Invictus Games.
And also attended the Royal Windsor Horse Show in the grounds of Windsor Castle with the Queen yesterday.
These engagements took place after the excitement of Wednesday, when the Duke and Duchess presented their new tot to the world in St George’s Hall.
It is thought the newest member of the royal family still hasn’t met some of his nearest relatives including Charles, Camilla, William and Kate.
Archie Harrison was born at 5.26am on Monday morning but almost a week later, it seems the seventh in line to the throne still hasn’t had visits from his aunt, uncle, and grandfather.
Harry and Meghan introduced Archie to the Queen and Prince Philip on Wednesday.
The historic picture, taken by their wedding photographer Chris Allerton, also showed Meghan’s mum Doria Ragland.
She was the first to meet baby Archie as she’s been staying with them at Frogmore Cottage and accompanied them to the Portland hospital last Sunday.
Charles is hoping to see his new grandson next week.
A Clarence House spokesman said that Charles and Camilla would visit Archie in the coming days.
A spokesman for the Sussexes, said plans were on the diary for Kate, William, Charles and Camilla all to visit Frogmore Cottage.
Proud dad Harry is said to have announced the birth of Archie on the family WhatsApp group.
Rugby ace Mike Tindall, married to the Queen’s granddaughter Zara Phillips, said he was told the news on the group he is in with other close relatives.
The 40-year-old World Cup winner said of Harry: “He’ll be a great dad. Obviously, he’s godfather to Lena, but we’ve got a great group of young ones in the family now.”
