Nigel Farage blasts BBC for Brexit Party ‘denial’ in furious Andrew Marr interview
NIGEL Farage today lost his cool as he accused the BBC of being “in denial” over the rise of his Brexit Party.
The new party is on course to win the Euro elections and could even beat the Tories in a General Election, polls show.
But grilled about his track record today, Mr Farage hit out at “ludicrous” questions from the Beeb’s Andrew Marr.
The Brexiteer claimed the BBC was trying to ignore his recent success by focussing on controversies from the past.
He refused to apologise for saying that Britain shouldn’t tackle climate change and migrants with HIV should be banned.
And he also denied that he admires Vladimir Putin and wants to see gun laws repealed.
Mr Farage raged: “What is wrong with the BBC?
“You’re just not interested, are you? Let’s talk about democracy, let’s talk about trust, let’s talk about competence in politics. This is ludicrous.
“I’ve never in my life seen a more ridiculous interview than this. You are not prepared to talk about what is happening in this country.
“You’re in denial, the BBC is in denial, the Conservatives are in denial, the Labour party is in denial.”

He admitted his Brexit Party doesn’t have any policies other than leaving the EU without a deal – saying that manifestos are pointless because they’re always broken.
Mr Farage said: “Right now the only way to deliver on the referendum is a WTO Brexit.
“We voted to leave, we didn’t vote for a deal. That’s why there’s a massive appetite for the Brexit Party now, because people want to live in a democratic country.”
But he confessed he is “mentally preparing” for a second referendum because he fears Remainers will succeed in overturning Brexit.
Mr Farage was hailed by fans – Piers Morgan tweeted: “Nigel Farage looking & sounding like a leader on #Marr. Love him or loathe him, at least he believes in what he says & argues it with passion.”
But critics said the interview proved he crumbles under pressure and can’t defend his record.

Amber Rudd said: “As always Farage is pushing his false Brexit betrayal narrative that is deliberately misleading. No solutions, no realism, no policies.”
A General Election poll released last night showed the Brexit Party ahead of the Tories for the first time.
They are heavy favourites to come top in the European Parliament elections on May 23.
