Letter: I applaud Hallmark’s bold move with Lori Loughlin
Re: “This shows Lori Loughlin cares more about her image than her role as a mom” (Letters to the editor, May 7):
Hallmark’s “When Calls the Heart” was my all-time favorite series, largely because of Lori Loughlin’s character, Abigail Stanton. I now do not want to own it — or, possibly, continue to watch it.
Loughlin’s contribution to the show rivaled that of the character of Elizabeth Thatcher. Loughlin reminded me of my own mom, who at 40 lost my dad and parented us six kids for 32 years! Five out of six of us went to college through hard work, loans and legitimate scholarships.
I applaud Hallmark’s bold stance to fire her. Forty years of jail time does seem a bit harsh though.
Blatantly lying about her daughters’ crew team participation had nothing to do with “being deceived.” Claiming “ignorance” of the law is a very weak case.
