‘American Idol’ Top 3 predictions: Alejandro Aranda, Laine Hardy and Wade Cota
On the May 12 episode of “American Idol,” the final 5 — Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg — will sing three songs each: one in honor of Mother’s Day, another that was chosen by menton Bobby Bones and a third from the Elton John back catalog. At the end of the live show, Ryan Seacrest will reveal the three contenders to make it to next week’s final.
We asked for your predictions as to which of these remaining five finalists will go all the way to win season 17. “Idol” fans are divided between two of them: Alejandro Aranda has 39% of the viewers vote as of this writing and Laine Hardy is at 31%. While Alejandro is about where he was heading into last week;’s Top 6 show (40%), Laine has added five points to his total. Much of that support comes from fans of Jeremiah Lloyd Harmon, who was eliminated.
Jeremiah lost the chance to compete in the Top 5 when Luke Bryan, Katy Perry and Lionel Richie opted to use their one judges save of the season to throw a lifeline to Laci. But it looks like that was a mistake as she has only 6% of the total tally to date. Also lagging behind is Madison Vandenburg with 9%.
While Madison might rally on Sunday night, it looks like it will be an all-male final 3 as Wade Cota now has 15% of the vote (up from 12% last week).
