Love Island voiceover star Iain Stirling says ITV has BANNED him from being too mean about the Islanders
Love Island voiceover star Iain Stirling says ITV have stopped him going too far with his sarcastic jokes about the show’s hapless contestants.
The 31-year-old comedian spoke about his gags on Sunday Brunch today, admitting: “Some of them they let us do – and some they say: ‘You obviously can’t say that.'”

Iain, who is dating TV star Laura Whitmore, also said he does manage to get some rude phrases in by slipping terms from his native Scotland past his London-based bosses.
He explained: “We get some Scottish phrases in. London TV execs are like: ‘Oh, what a quaint phrase.’ I’m like: ‘That doesn’t mean that.'”
The comedian also revealed some of the secrets about the hit show, which returns next month, to hosts Tim Lovejoy and Simon Rimmer.
He explained: “I write it with a guy called Mark, who is also Scottish.

“Me and him spend two month trying to not get sunburnt and looking at people and being sarcastic about them. It’s really great fun.
“I go in about 2pm, watch what is basically the final episode, then we just write some jokes.”
He added that he originally turned down the job – one of the biggest gigs in reality TV – because he didn’t like the show and it clashed with this stand-up work.
Iain explained: “I said no loads of times because I’m not a reality TV guy. It films in July, just before the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. But I’ve never looked back.”
