Arsenal, Man United submit offers for 24-year-old Spanish midfielder – report
Arsenal and Manchester United have both launched bids to sign Real Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente, according to a report in Spain.
Spanish media outlet AS, as quoted by Metro, is reporting that the Premier League duo have both entered offers for the highly-rated 24-year-old ahead of the summer transfer window.
The same article states that Arsenal and Manchester United could face competition from Serie A giants AS Roma, who are also keen on the Spanish playmaker.
According to the same story, Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane doesn’t view Llorente as part of his plans moving forward, opening the door for Llorente’s exit.
The Spain Under-21 international has come through the youth system at Real Madrid but Llorente has failed to convince the Real Madrid boss that he has a future at The Bernabeu.
The Madrid-born playmaker has scored two goals in 15 games in all competition in the 2018-19 season, but his time in the Spanish capital appears to be running out.
Arsenal and Manchester United are both eager to add to their squads in the summer transfer window to improve their options ahead of what will be a pivotal season for both underperforming clubs next term.
The Gunners can still end the 2018-19 campaign on a positive note if they beat Chelsea FC in the Europa League final to secure a spot in next season’s Champions League.
