Meghan Markle celebrates her first Mother’s Day with baby Archie and Doria Ragland
MEGHAN Markle is celebrating her first Mother’s Day with baby Archie and Doria Ragland.
The new mum is believed to be marking the special US day with her son and mum at home in Windsor.
On Monday, the Duchess of Sussex gave birth to her little boy, before presenting him to the world with Prince Harry on Wednesday.
The Anglo-American baby’s arrival happened just in time for American Mother’s Day – unlike the UK’s Mother’s Day which took place in March.
Meghan will be spending it with her own mum, who has been staying with the couple since April.
This is unlike last year, when Doria flew to the UK on May 16 – narrowly missing the important US day – but in time for her daughter’s royal wedding.
It is likely the Duke of Sussex will take the opportunity to celebrate Meghan’s recent entry into motherhood.
Yesterday, he left his wife and baby’s side to attend the nearby Royal Windsor Horse Show, which is in its fifth and final day.
It follows his trip to the Netherlands on Thursday to launch the Invictus Games.
In the later stages of Meghan’s pregnancy he was seen still actively carrying out royal duties – including greeting London Marathon runners at the finish line, and attending an Anzac Day service with Kate Middleton.
Just hours after the baby was born at Portland Hospital at 5.26am on Monday, his father announced the good news near to the family home of Frogmore Cottage.
Harry, who was by Meghan’s side during labour, said the “little thing is absolutely to-die-for”.
On Wednesday, he appeared holding his baby son, alongside Meghan, for a photocall in St George’s Hall in Windsor Castle.
The couple have since had to deny they “stage managed” the birth.
