McGregor mocks ‘greatest featherweight’ Aldo after loss, then deletes tweet

0

Conor McGregor did not lose an opportunity to make fun of Jose Aldo after his loss at UFC 237 in Brazil.

Conor McGregor is still going strong on social media.

After sharing a controversial opinion regarding BJ Penn’s career after the ‘Prodigy’ was bested by Clay Guida at UFC 237, the former double champion returned to his Twitter page following Jose Aldo’s unanimous decision loss to Alexander Volkanovski, on the event’s main card.

In a shorter post than the one he wrote about Penn, McGregor mocked Aldo’s career after the loss, subtly questioning whether or not the Brazilian is the best featherweight in UFC history.

“‘There goes the consensus greatest featherweight in UFC history Joe, you numpty’ — me walking by the mirror in my Jon Anik voice.”

McGregor has since deleted both of his tweets about Penn and Aldo.

Before the loss to Volkanovski, Jose Aldo was on a two-fight winning streak, with TKO wins over Renato Moicano and Jeremy Stephens. Conor McGregor has not stepped into the Octagon ever since a submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov, back in October 2018. The 30-year-old’s last win came in November 2016, when he knocked out Eddie Alvarez to become the UFC lightweight champion at the occasion.
