Man Utd’s departing stars were denied farewell start with Mata on the bench and Herrera not in the squad
MANCHESTER UNITED’S departing players were denied a farewell start today.
Ander Herrera didn’t even get in the squad while Juan Mata was left on the bench.
Both are leaving Man Utd this summer with their contracts up.
Club captain Antonio Valencia, also out of contract, got named on the bench.
He has not appeared for the club since January 2.
Manager Ole Solskjaer said he would try some of the youth players and forward Mason Greenwood, 17, was named in the first team for the first time.

Midfielder James Garner, 18, and attacking midfielder Angel Gomes got named on the bench.
Many fans will be wondering whether this will be Paul Pogba’s final start with a possible move to Real Madrid on the cards for the unsettled club record buy.
It will certainly be a very interesting summer at Old Trafford.
As Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said in his programme notes yesterday: “It may be the end of the season.

“But, as far as I am concerned this is where our journey as a team really begins.
“There will be some changes in personnel, but whoever is here, we need to see a fitter, sharper, hungrier Manchester United next season.
“Yes there is a long road ahead of us but we have to relish the challenges that face us.”
