Sickening footage shows rhino dying with its horn cut off

0

Horrifying footage shows rhino shuddering as they were left to die from their horns being cut off.

The two animals are seen bleeding profusely from the wounds on their heads, as they lie on grass sticky with blood.

Former cricketer Kevin Pieterson shared the video, saying it was ‘disgusting and despicable’ and: ‘The harsh reality of what’s happening to our rhinos, EVERYDAY!’

He is making a podcast called Beast of Man about the plight of rhinos in South Africa, documenting the people trying to save them from poaching.

Asked when and where the footage was taken, he said he was ‘not allowed to give info’ on the exact details.

Ciaran Tracey, who is also working on the podcast, said: ‘I am very sorry to retweet this, it is unspeakable.

‘But everyone must see it, and that is why we are doing what we are doing with Beast of Man. Many have queried that title. I trust these pictures explain it sufficiently.’

According to Save The Rhino, more than 8,300 African rhinos have been lost to poaching in just a decade.

They said 2019 has ‘continued to bring news of rhino poaching incidents in South Africa: if the 2018 trend were to continue for 2019, then 88 rhinos could have already been poached this year.’
