Good morning, Mets fans!

Today, New York will look to get back to .500, as well as go for the sweep against the Miami Marlins. Noah Syndergaard gets the ball for the Mets and will be opposed by Caleb Smith.

On Saturday, Mets’ ace Jacob deGrom twirled seven strong innings on the hill and also drove in a run at the dish. Pete Alonso and Michael Conforto also hit back-to-back jacks as the Amazin’s toppled the Marlins 4-1.

The Toronto Blue Jays have acquired journeyman Edwin Jackson from the Oakland Athletics in exchange for cash considerations, according to a team release. Jackson, 35, will join his 14th MLB squad in his 16-year MLB career.

The Pittsburgh Pirates have acquired right-handed pitcher Chris Stratton from the Los Angeles Angels for cash considerations, according to a team release. Stratton, 28, was originally acquired by the Angels earlier this season from the San Francisco Giants. The former first rounder will now look to stick with the Bucs while bringing his impressive spin rate to the table.

The Texas Rangers have signed right-hander Josh Fields to a minor league deal according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today. Fields, 33, will receive $850,000 with $200,000 of incentives if he cracks the MLB team. Additionally, he has a July 15 opt-out date in his contract.
