APC chieftain donates educational materials for school children in Buhari's village (photo)
- A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa state, Musa Ahmed, has made a donation of educational materials to over 2,000 school children
- Ahmed also donated some instructional materials to 30 teachers in Government Model Secondary School Daura, Katsina state
- According too Ahmed, there are plans to send 50,000 out of school children back to school and provide over 200 scholarships to those willing to acquire higher education
Over 2,000 school children and 30 teachers have received educational materials in Daura local government area of Katsina state.
The donation made by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Adamawa state, Musa Halilu Ahmed, through the Musa Halilu Ahmed Foundation is aimed at empowering the pupils and teachers of Government Model Secondary School Daura, Katsina state.
The educational materials including writing materials such as school uniforms, bags, exercise books, textbooks, pen; as well as equipped the school with dozens of stationery, public address system among others is expected to boost educational/administrative activities of the teachers in the school.
Speaking at the presentation, Ahmed said the foundation have it as part of its 2019 goal, to send 50,000 out of school children back to school and provide over 200 scholarships to those willing to acquire higher education.

Ahmed said: “We recognise it is a big task to provide quality education for every Nigerian due to the limited allocation towards education, as such public school students and schools lack access to essential educational resources."

"We are optimistic that this programme will help to bridge knowledge inequality by providing undeserving students; as well as public schools access to learning resources that aid academic excellence and enable teachers to discharge their obligatory duties seamlessly," the chieftain added.
Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that Adamu Adamu, the minister of education said that the number of out-of-school children across the country is estimated at 10,193,918.
The minister explained why many kids are not enrolled in primary and secondary schools.
Legit.ng gathers that Adamu, who was represented by the ministry’s permanent secretary, disclosed that the reasons why there were millions of out-of-school children included financial incapacitation, violent conflicts, ignorance on the part of parents/guardian and lack of political will to confront the ugly phenomenon.

He further cited socio-cultural complexities, distance to schools, physically challenged children, child labour, migration, and orphanages as some of the reasons why children were not in school. He listed states.
