DISGRACED cricketer Alex Hepburn who raped a woman in a sick WhatsApp sex game will be able to play cricket in jail, it has been revealed.

Hepburn, 23, was jailed to five years behind bars for orally raping the 21-year-old woman as part of a “pathetic sexist game to collect as many sexual encounters as possible”.

But it has since been revealed the Australian-born former Worcestershire CCC all-rounder will be banged up in  HMP Littlehey – which boasts extensive grass and all-weather pitches.

The jail, which is Europe’s biggest nick and houses more than 1,200 people, also has two gyms and two libraries for its inmates.

A source told The Sun Online: “Littlehey is where he’ll go due to the serious nature of his crimes and the fact that he lives in the south of England.

“It will be a serious shock to the system. The entire population of the prison is made up of sex offenders.

“It will be a wake-up call to him. He may even have to share a cell.”

A report into conditions at the nick by the Independent Monitoring Board revealed it was “among the best” prisons.

The Prisons’ National Audit Team said: “The two gymnasia/sports hall facilities cater for the whole range of prisoners; gym usage is monitored by ethnicity and age and delivery is adapted to ensure that all groups have sufficient access.

“For example, there are 13 weekly ‘remedial’ gym sessions for prisoners who have suffered injuries, are post-operative, have physical or mental health issues. There are also specialised sessions for older prisoners.”

HMP Littlehey is the same jail where Max Clifford served out his time after being convicted of a string of assaults against four victims between 1977 and 1984 following an investigation by the Metropolitan police’s Operation Yewtree.

Hepburn had been found guilty of orally raping the woman while she dozed – having become “fired up” by a conquest game aimed at sleeping with the most women.

Jurors heard the victim initially believed she was still in bed with Hepburn’s teammate Joe Clarke, who had left the room to be sick, after waking up to find Hepburn performing a sex act on her.

Hereford Crown Court heard Hepburn admit to sending “disgusting, horrible and embarrassing” WhatsApp messages while setting the rules of the sexual conquest competition involving other cricketers.

Hepburn had been labelled as “arrogant” as he was jailed to five years behind bars this month.

Judge Jim Tindal added: “You thought you were God’s gift to women, you treated the victim like a piece of meat, not another human being who deserves respect.”

It has since been revealed the victim was so traumatised that her face was left paralysed by a medical condition.

The victim suffers from PTSD from the attack and the trials as well as losing two stone and enduring crippling panic attacks.

The Ministry of Justice said they did not comment on specific prisoner’s location.
