Monday’s horse racing NAP: Your best bets for today’s racing from Callum Jamieson
WHAT a time of year this is for Flat fans.
York is just around the corner, before Newbury hosts Group 1 action at the weekend and we continue to try and work out what’s what in Aidan O’Brien’s yard.
But lets not get carried away, and first things first, the racing on Monday isn’t too shabby.
MAYBE TODAY (Musselburgh, 3.35) looks the best bet of the day for Simon Crisford.
The Newmarket maestro doesn’t send many up to Musselburgh, but has a decent record with the horses he does.
His filly should appreciate stepping back up in trip here, and she ran well at Epsom last time despite hating the track.

That race looks hot for the level, and a mark of 89 still looks workable for this scopey four-year-old.
Mark Johnston’s Bayshore Freeway looks the obvious threat, and she may well set up the market for us.
She’s definitely improving, but the race at Bath fell into her lap last time out and a further 4lbs rise looks harsh, considering she’d been beat off 85, 85 and 86 on her three previous runs.
I’m happy to take her on, and hopefully Paul Mulrennan can get a tune out of Crisford’s filly up in Scotland.
Elsewhere on Monday...
The tissue prices look well out, but ILLUSIONIST (Windsor, 5.50) looks a solid bet if any price whatsoever.
Needless to say, Archie Watson is flying with his youngsters and this colt should have come on plenty for his second on debut to a smart horse when running a tad green.
