Hospital bus sends woman flying after hitting her
CCTV footage shows the unidentified pedestrian being helped smashed in the face with the corner of the bus as she walked down the street with a friend. She gets back to her feet and limps away before turning around to confront the driver at the stop in Burnley, Lancashire. An investigation was launched after witnesses claimed the driver didn't check to see if the woman was injured Burnley Liberal Democrat leader Gordon Birtwistle said he was appalled by incident on Wednesday afternoon and said pedestrians 'should feel safe'.
The NHS East Lancashire Hospitals Trust offers the free bus service, which is operated by a third party, to all staff, patients and visitors of the region's three hospitals. The trust's divisional director of estates and facilities James Maguire said: 'We understand that the bus operator has investigated the incident and taken appropriate action. 'We hope the pedestrian involved has sought appropriate medical advice and we wish them well.' The trust was unable to confirm which operator they have contracted to run the service.
