Liverpool 2, Wolves 0: Man of the Match
With the final match of the league season in the books, we want you to rate Liverpool’s players and choose your man of the match.
That’s all folks. The 2018-19 Premier League season has come to a close. Liverpool also came close, but ultimately could not outpace the juggernaut that Manchester City’s ownership has put together.
Sadio Mané opened the scoring for the home side in the 17th minute and added a second late in the second half. The visitors were as well-organized as you might expect for a side that should challenge the structural integrity of the perceived Top-6 cluster next year. The defiantly party-like atmosphere that permeated the grounds at the outset of the match gradually gave way to the recognition that City had done their job.
Three words: We go again.
Another three words: Champions. League. Final.
Now let us know how you saw it. With our usual polling tool out of service, we’re instead giving you a choice between a few of the players we thought looked best today for the Reds, so make your choice below and vote for who you think should be the man of the match—or take to the comments to let us know that we got it wrong by leaving the real man of the match off the list entirely.
And as always, anyone visiting on Apple News or Google AMP who wish to vote and can’t see the poll can make it visible by navigating to the front page of The Liverpool Offside and re-entering the story.
