Van Dijk, Salah, Mané, and Alisson End Season with Premier League Honours
Liverpool didn’t quite get where they wanted to go in the league but it was still a phenomenal season. Liverpool didn’t quite get the Premier League title the fans were craving, but finishing on 97 points—a total that would have won it all but one other time—and just one point back of Manchester City is nothing to be ashamed of.
Jürgen Klopp’s boys gave it their all, and on the final day of the season there took home multiple individual honours for it, starting off with Virgil van Dijk being handed the Premier League’s player of the season award.
Teammates Sadio Mané and Mohamed Salah were fellow nominees along with City trio Raheem Sterling, Sergio Aguero, and Bernardo Silva and Chelsea’s Eden Hazard. The award was announced by the league shortly before kickoff.
