Hurd and Dogboe thank supporters after losses

0

Jarrett Hurd and Isaac Dogboe suffered setbacks on Saturday, but vow to come back.

Jarrett Hurd and Isaac Dogboe both took hard losses on Saturday night, with Hurd upset against Julian Williams in a hometown title defense, and Dogboe getting smashed by Emanuel Navarrete in a rematch in Arizona.

But the fighters were in good spirits after their setbacks, both thanking their supporters.

Hurd (23-1, 16 KO) says he’ll pursue the rematch with Williams (27-1-1, 16 KO), who now holds the WBA and IBF 154-pound titles.

Dogboe (20-2, 14 KO) took a horrible beating before the fight was finally stopped in the 12th and final round, with Emanuel Navarrete once again just proving too much for him to handle. But the upbeat Ghanaian posted that he was fine, no major injuries, and thanks his fans, too:

Both Hurd and Dogboe are still contenders, still fighters of note in the sport, and these losses don’t have to be the end of the world for them.

As the once-beaten Julian Williams put it last night: “The boxing world, they make it seem like fighters take a loss and can’t come back. I just knew that wasn’t the case. Boxing world, stop condemning fighters when they take a loss.”
