Gervonta and Farmer go at it again on social media
Seems like the beef isn’t over yet.
Recently, IBF super featherweight titleholder Tevin Farmer was asked about his ongoing beef with WBA titleholder Gervonta Davis. The two have exchanged words over social media and interviews, but Farmer said just 10 days ago that he wasn’t going to bother with that anymore.
“I fell back from that because the fight’s not happening,” he said. “I wanted the fight to happen, Davis said he wanted the fight to happen, but for some reason, it’s not happening.”
Well, maybe not so much, as the two got into it again today on Twitter, with the war of words getting pretty nasty.
Here’s the rundown:
I’ll take farmer and the rest right after

Well, that got out of hand. This is just the sort of thing that the WBC will not be allowing under their new code of conduct or whatever the hell they’re on about lately, but these aren’t WBC guys, either, so who gives a shit, I guess.
It’s also worth pointing out that Lou DiBella jumped in here and noted that Eddie Hearn and Tevin Farmer have just one fight left on their deal. That could be extended, or it might not be, but DiBella doesn’t sound unhappy about where Farmer is or anything.
And here’s the very Boxing part: most likely, both these guys are fighting mandatory challengers next, so all of this is pretty empty for the moment.
Farmer has been ordered to face France’s Guillaume Frenois, a former European champion, and Davis has been ordered to face Panama’s Ricardo Nunez, whose main attribute is that he’s from Panama. We know that Davis will be back July 27 on Showtime in Baltimore, and it seems like it’ll be Nunez across the ring. Farmer-Frenois doesn’t have a date yet.
