‘American Idol’: How to vote for the Top 3 finalists on May 12
Voting for the Top 3 on “American Idol” kicks off at the start of the live nationwide broadcast on Sunday, May 12. As you will only have until the last commercial break to cast votes for your favorite, it is important you know the three ways to make your voice heard: by app, online or via text.
ABC will let you vote up to 10 times per method for each of the remaining five artists: Alejandro Aranda, Laci Kaye Booth,, Wade Cota, Laine Hardy and Madison VanDenburg: That cap means you can cast up to 30 votes for each contestant that you want to see continue on to the season 17 final on May 19.
And you can reallocate your votes throughout the evening as the Top 5 perform three songs apiece: a tune in honor of Mother’s Day, another chosen by mentor Bobby Bones and a selection from the Elton John songbook. Just remember to click “save” each time that you change your choices.
You must be at least 13 years of age and resident in the U.S., Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands to vote via the app, which can be downloaded from the Apple App Store and Google Play, or online. There is no age or residency requirement to vote via text.
